They call you strong like it’s a compliment but nobody really knows what it costs, do they?

Being “the strong one” means you’re always holding it all together;  the family, the friendships, the faith. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, you’re the one falling apart in silence. You show up on fumes because that’s what strong women do… until we can’t.

Let me tell you what I’ve learned: strength without rest turns into survival.
And survival? That’s not living, that’s performing.

You’ve spent so much time holding space for everybody else, but who’s holding space for you?
You can’t keep rescuing people while you’re quietly drowning.
You can’t heal if you’re always the one holding everything together.

Real strength isn’t pushing through; it’s taking time to pause.
It’s saying, “Girl, I’m tired,” without feeling guilty about it.
It’s asking for help before you break.
It’s remembering that your softness doesn’t make you weak, it’s what makes you whole.

That burnout you’re feeling? It’s not just being tired, it’s emotional exhaustion from always being needed, trusted, and never tended to. It’s the kind of tired that sleep doesn’t fix. The kind that comes from forgetting you’re allowed to just be human.

So listen, you don’t have to hold it all together.

You don’t have to earn a nap, a break, or a moment of peace.

You don’t have to prove you’re strong, you already are.

Now, put the cape down.
Take a deep breath and let somebody else be strong for you this time.

Because the real flex is not pretending you’re okay, it’s knowing when it’s time to sit down somewhere and rest.
