When Everything Feels Like It’s Falling Away:

Understanding Your Fall Season

There’s something about the Fall season that hits a little deeper the older you get.  I began to realize that the air shifts, the colors soften and the trees start to let go of what they no longer carry.

And you know what? I’ve come to realize that life works pretty much the same way.

We don’t just watch Fall happen in nature. We also walk through Fall seasons in our personal lives too. When we do this, things start to fall away that we never expected:  people, priorities, old versions of ourselves and patterns we didn’t even realize we were attached to.

This doesn’t happen because we’ve failed or because something’s wrong, but it’s because we’re actually changing.

Letting Go Doesn’t Mean You’re Losing

Think about the trees during the Fall season.  You’ll notice how quietly they release their leaves.  There’s no forcing or no clinging.  They honor their season with grace.

But us? We try to negotiate with the seasons we go through in our lives. We hold on to what’s familiar. We hold on because it’s comfortable.  We even hold on because part of us is afraid of who we’ll be without what’s falling away.

But one thing I’ve realized is that letting go isn’t a sign that your life is falling apart.  It’s actually a sign that you’re evolving. When this shift happens, you have to view it as you’re making space.  You’re shedding what drains or no longer serves you. It may even be the very thing that’s been weighing you down and you’re now creating room for the life you’ve actually been praying for.

When Things Shift, It’s Because You’re Shifting

If you’re in a season where things feel like they’re dropping left and right…
know that you’re not being punished, you’re being aligned.

Sometimes God removes what won’t carry you into your next level.
Sometimes your spirit is outgrowing what your mind is still trying to hold onto.
Sometimes the old version of you has to fall away for the new one to breathe.

What’s leaving isn’t taking anything from you but it’s creating space for what’s meant to meet you.

Winter: The Quiet Season Nobody Talks About

Right after Fall comes the Winter and Winter is the season most people underestimate.

It’s the season where everything looks still and uncultivated but in reality, everything underneath is strengthening. It’s the same for you in your winter season because your roots, faith, clarity and capacity are also strengthening.

I believe that the Winter season is our season where God works in the unseen.  It’s where He rebuilds and re-centers you and reminds you of who you are.

It may feel quiet and lonely, but don’t think you’re stuck.  This is the season where you’re being prepared. Learn to embrace the stillness of your winter season.

Spring: Your Rebirth Is Already in Motion

And then it happens… Spring comes and suddenly what felt bare and empty starts to bloom again.  There’s new energy, new opportunities, new people in your life and new levels of confidence and clarity.

Spring is the season where everything you thought you lost gets replaced with something better, something more aligned and something meant for who you’re becoming.

The Spring season always comes. And when it does, it makes every falling leaf in your life make sense.

If You’re Walking Through Your Fall Season Right Now…

I want to leave you with this reminder:

You’re not being stripped, you’re being cleared. You’re not losing, you’re making room. You’re not being abandoned, you’re being redirected. You’re not breaking, you’re being rebuilt. You’re not ending, you’re evolving.

Let what needs to fall, fall.
Let what’s shifting, shift.
Let the season do what it’s meant to do.

Your Spring is your rebirth, your fresh start, your next level. It’s already on it’s way to you and you know what? It’s going to look so beautiful on you!
